Which cases use MOS?

The Office for Foreigners confirms that the new MOS launched on 27 April 2026. The electronic route includes temporary residence and work applications. Certain special cases use other routes. Always select the instructions for your specific residence basis.

Account, documents and confirmation

Prepare access to your own account and a supported electronic signature. Organise passport scans, a photograph and required attachments. Saving a draft does not submit the application. Download the official acknowledgement after submission. Keep passwords and authentication codes private.

The employer’s role

For a temporary residence and work application, the employer receives a link at the email address provided. An authorised person must complete and sign the attachment before submission can be finalised. Confirm the email and responsible person early. Online submission does not remove a later requirement to attend in person if summoned.

Practical preparation checklist

  • Check that you are registering in the correct new MOS portal.
  • Prepare legible scans of every page of your valid passport and a current photograph.
  • Confirm the employer email and the person authorised to sign the attachment.
  • Check applicable fees and prepare payment confirmations.
  • After signing and submitting, download the acknowledgement and monitor official correspondence.
An illustrative situation

You have completed the form, but the employer has not yet signed the attachment. Submission cannot be finalised. Check that the message reached the correct address and contact the responsible person. A draft is not proof of submission. If the authority later summons you to attend in person, treat this as a separate procedural stage.

Questions & answers

Does MOS replace work permission?+

MOS is a portal for residence procedures. Access to the portal itself does not give permission to work.
