What should you check first?
Prepare your nationality, current country of residence, passport validity and residence documents. Explain whether you are planning to travel or are already in Poland. This helps the team identify what needs checking for the proposed project. A job offer alone is not a reason to purchase a ticket.
Work permission relates to a particular job
A work permit and lawful stay are separate requirements. The employer applies for a work permit where one is needed. The residence basis must also allow employment, and the authorised conditions must match the actual job. Exemptions and special procedures exist, so another person’s situation is not a reliable template for your case.
Moving to another country
A Polish work permit is not a general authorisation to take employment throughout Europe. If you are interested in another country, tell us before recruitment starts. Requirements must be checked against the destination and the project model.
Practical preparation checklist
- Nationality and your current country of residence.
- Passport and residence-document expiry dates.
- Destination country and intended profession.
- Previous employment and any ongoing residence proceedings.
- Confirmation of who handles the case and how to share documents.
You receive an offer in Poland while still living in your home country. Tell the team about your documents and agree the order of next steps. Selection by the company, work documentation and entry eligibility are separate elements of preparation. Set a travel date once they have been checked. Do not automatically apply the same route to an offer in another country.
Questions & answers
Does a job offer guarantee a visa?+
No. The competent authorities make administrative decisions; recruitment does not replace the visa procedure.
